Welcome to JESLA: the Journal of the European Second Language Association. This second issue comprises ten of the best papers originally presented at the annual EuroSLA conferences in 2017 (Reading, UK) and 2016 (Jyväskylä, Finland). The winners of the JESLA 2018 best article award are Simone E. Pfenninger and Sabrina Polz, for their paper " Foreign language learning in the third age: A pilot feasibility study on cognitive, socio-affective and linguistic drivers and benefits in relation to previous bilingualism of the learner”.
The editorial team would like to thank reviewers who gave their expertise and valuable time to review the papers and all those who submitted papers to the journal for consideration.
